Will Other People Get AirTag Notifications About My Child?
his is a great question about a feature designed for safety. In our experience and based on feedback from our oobi community (including conversations with teachers and caregivers), unwanted notifications are rare. While Apple’s system may occasionally alert you to “an AirTag traveling with you” during car rides or other shared transportation, this typically doesn’t occur in daily settings like school or playdates. For complete peace of mind, we recommend:
- Having conversations with your child’s teachers and
regular caregivers - Following Apple’s best practices
for AirTag use - Setting up your AirTag correctly
through Apple’s Find My app

Should Kids Know They Have an Airtag in their shoe?
Yes! We recommend having an open conversation with your child about how their oobi shoes help keep them safe.

The must-have shoe for so many reasons. So light and comfortable my toddler runs the best in his oobi’s and its the only shoe we have when we travel. Having that peace of mind that it has the airtag in it makes it a no brainer. Even everyday use it just feels good that you can check your baby where they are meant to be. I have found my stress level just lower having this sense of security.

Oobi shoes have been a game-changer for our family. The colors are bold and fun—clearly designed with child’s tastes in mind, not just what parents think looks nice! And with the built-in AirTag slot, we’re not just keeping tabs on shoes—we’re basically GPS-tracking our little whirlwind! Best of all, they’re actually affordable. Oobi gets it, and it shows.
